St. Margaret's Church is a member of the Trunch Team of ten churches.
Team Vicar: Revd. D. Bartlett, 01263 833404. <revdb@beeb.net>
It
is hoped that during the repairs to the roof and ceiling a normal
service schedule can be maintained. Any changes will be
advertised on notice boards.
Your Parish Church is changing. As
a result of a re organization in the Trunch Team, Antingham, Southrepps
and Thorpe Market Churches will be working more closely together from
the beginning of 2008. The Team will maintain the schedule of a
combined service for all of its 10 churches on the 5th Sunday in those
months where it occurs. The venue will be announced nearer the
time.
The most obvious change will be a monthly cluster service,
where all three congregations will have a joint service in one of the
three Churches. For the rest of the month each church will maintain its
own pattern and style of services. The cluster services at Thorpe Market will be on the 2nd Sunday in January, April,July and October, at 10.45am.
As
well as the cluster services, where we will be able to encourage and
support each other, it is hoped that as the new grouping develops, we
will organize other joint events as well as supporting each others
activities. We are also looking forward to developing even closer links
with The Methodist chapel in Lower Street. Another noticeable
difference will be in the way the cluster is staffed. The Rev David
Bartlett (who lives in Southrepps Rectory) will take on responsibility
for the new cluster and will be its main “Clergy Link”
within the Trunch Team.
This new arrangement will not
have any effect upon the normal arrangements for baptisms, weddings and
funerals, which can still be arranged by contacting me, Rev. David
Bartlett on 01263 833404 (or <revdb@internet.com>
I look forward to getting to know you better and pray that God will bless you in the coming year with His love, joy and peace.
At St. Margaret's Thorpe Market, a service of Holy Communion is held on the first Sunday of every month at 10:45 am. Evening
services take place at 6:30 pm on the third Sunday of every month.
These are usually informal and with Village Folk Band.
Occasional Choral Evensongs feature the choir of St. James'
Southrepps. All forth-coming services are advertised on the village green noticeboard and at the church.
