Cantamus Community Choir

The choir was formed at St. Margaret's Church, Thorpe Market in 1998, initially simply to sing Stainer:

"The "Crucifixion" on Good Friday.

We are a friendly choir, held together by a strong community spirit, as well as a love of choral music.

The choir is open to singers of all abilities and has members who have sung professionally, as well as

those who have not sung since school days.

We currently meet on Thursday evenings at St. James, Southrepps, 7:30 - 9:30.  David Ballard is our

Musical Director and he is always pleased to hear from potential new members. <Davidballard@hotmail.co.uk>.  The choir is particularly keen to recruit singers in the Alto, Tenor, and

Bass sections.  The ability to be able to read musical notation is not necessary for joining the choir.

The repertoire for the Spring Term will be Vivaldi's Gloria combined with arrangements of folk songs and

part songs by composers including Elgar, Dyson and Britten.
